To dream a ballet

A season of legends, a season of milestones. Nordic mythology, Shakespearian fantasies, Magritte and the fauns, the most famous dream of the most legendary summer in the eyes of the magician of dance, Alexander Ekman.

A creation by Ballett Dortmund for The Royal Swedish Ballet, it has been touring the world since 2015, and has left no one indifferent. The elegance of eternal dreams. The emotion of a staging that makes us travel to the other side of the mirror.

The most classic piece of the most classic of classical with the codes of the 21st century.

Choral scenes and duos. Ballet as an incantation of the oldest and most lovely stories. Legend as a subject for contemporary art. Time trapped by beauty. The soul-stirring power of creativity in action.

The musical score of Swedish Mikael Karlsson, the Dortmunder Philharmoniker and pop music. Scenography and stage direction by Alexander Ekman. Exceptional exhibition and daring by one of the most important dance troupes in Europe.

And The Bard of bards, William Shakespeare: “For as the sun is daily new and old/ So is my love still telling what is told” (1)

Dance, music, the love of artistic creation.

(1) Sonnet 76: Why is my voice so barren of new pride?
